David Agbim

David Agbim, the Managing Director of CET Power since January 2023, brings a wealth of experience in engineering and finance to his role. David also sits on the board of CET Power subsidiary, CET Energy. At CET Energy he conceived the Virt Gas Project concept and has led the development of the small-scale LNG business that will eventually provide LNG for gas-fired power and thermal applications to industrial clients in West African locations unserved by pipeline gas.

His extensive background in finance and management positions him as a pivotal leader in driving CETPower's mission forward. David has also successfully privately funded other businesses in the Nigerian infrastructure service sector over the last 13 years.

Prior to Mr. Agbim’s current focus on Africa investing which began in 2010, he was the Head of Investment Management (Asia) within Man Global Strategies (MGS). London-based MGS, was a division of Man Investments, one of the world’s largest alternative investment providers with ~$75 billion in assets, and part of Man Group Plc. As the Head of Investment Management, Asia, David built the Asia Investment Management business from scratch, managing a team across London and Hong Kong and overseeing over $3 billion in investments. During his tenure at MGS, he was a key member of the Investment and Management Committees, jointly overseeing over $17 billion in investment funds. He played a crucial role in designing and implementing MGS's transparency and risk management framework and recruited and led an international team across London, Hong Kong, and New York. In total, David spent 13 years at Man investments.

Mr Agbim holds a B. Eng. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from University College London and an MSc in Finance from London Business School.
